Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026.

Who we are

Keepsake is operated by khaldoun.dev, Vienna, Austria (“we”). You can reach us at [email protected].

The service

Keepsake is a digital guestbook. Event owners create an event and share a QR code or kiosk; guests contribute photos, written messages, and hand-drawn signatures without an account; contributions are gathered into a browsable memory book for the owner. Some capabilities depend on the plan of the individual event (see “Free tier and paid upgrades”).

Using the service

By creating an account you agree to these terms. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials safe.

Free tier and paid upgrades

Creating an event is free and includes up to 75 photos plus unlimited messages and signatures. Two optional one-time upgrades exist per event: the Event Pass (€10, up to 250 photos) and the Grand Pass (€18, up to 500 photos), each also unlocking kiosk mode and print/PDF export for that event.

  • Upgrades are one-time purchases tied to a single event. They are not subscriptions, do not renew, and cannot be transferred to another event or account.
  • The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see your card details.
  • Photo caps are technical limits, not guarantees of a photo count; how many photos an event collects depends on your guests.

Refunds and withdrawal

When you buy an upgrade, the extra capacity and features are activated immediately. By purchasing, you request this immediate performance and acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed for your event, the statutory right of withdrawal for the purchase lapses. If something went wrong with a purchase (for example a double charge, or a pass bought for the wrong event before it was used), contact us and we will sort it out. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Your content and your guests

You and your guests keep ownership of the photos, messages, and signatures you collect. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that content in order to run your event and build your book. You are responsible for collecting contributions lawfully, for informing your guests as needed, and for honouring requests from your guests to remove their contributions.

Photo storage and Google Drive

Connecting Google Drive is optional and recommended. With Drive connected, each photo's full-resolution original is saved to your own Drive folder. Without it, originals are held on our storage for about 60 days and then automatically deleted; smaller web-quality copies remain so your book keeps working. Deleting a contribution or an event removes its media, including offloaded originals in the event's Drive folder. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content, to harass others, or to disrupt or probe the service. Automated screening may flag photos for the owner's review. We may remove content, cap abusive traffic, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Availability

The service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and short maintenance windows may occur. We are a small operation; if something breaks during your event, contact us and we will do our best.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual duties and only up to the typical, foreseeable damage; given the nature of the service, that is normally capped at the amount you paid for the affected event. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Ending things

You can delete events or your whole account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon account deletion your data is removed as described in the privacy policy.

Changes

We may update these terms or prices for the future; material changes will be communicated through the service or by email, and price changes never affect upgrades already purchased. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Austrian law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
